Coterie Insurance Expands C-Suite to Accelerate Growth with Focus on Customer Experience
Company promotes new Chief Operating Officer and adds Chief Technology Officer, Chief Data Officer and Chief Insurance Officer
CINCINNATI – Feb. 6, 2023 – Coterie Insurance, the partnership-driven insurtech MGA designed to simplify small business insurance, today announced several strategic operating updates expanding its C-suite with four executives. These include Morgan Smith as the new Chief Operations Officer, Paul Bessire as Chief Data Officer, Marci Campbell as Chief Technology Officer, and Pete Buccola as Chief Insurance Officer. Coterie’s executive team is positioned to engage, deliver and elevate the overall customer journey.

Morgan Smith has worked in insurance for over 15 years where her focus has been on operational strategy and leading diverse teams. She previously served as VP of Operations for Coterie. Before Coterie, she served as WC Resolution Lead for Blackboard Insurance and held several roles at Liberty Mutual Insurance in claims management, distribution process improvement, underwriting and client services.
Pete Buccola spent over 15 years at Travelers Insurance before joining Coterie in 2020, including serving as Regional Operating Officer on the west coast. He later worked at Blackboard Insurance as the West Underwriting Leader. Pete holds the CPCU designation and an MBA in Finance from the University of LaVerne.
Marci Campbell is a former software developer and product executive who has spent the bulk of her career focused on improving the customer experience. She previously served as VP of Products for Clarigent Health. Prior to that, she served as COO and SVP Product for AscendSMS after 15 years at Knovation as VP Solutions and Innovation.
Paul Bessire has been working in predictive analytics for 20 years. Prior to joining Coterie, Paul was the VP of Advanced Analytics at AMEND Consulting where he helped clients, and sports teams make more efficient decisions using data. He previously worked for Western & Southern, FoxSports and founded and exited his own company, Prediction Machine, revolutionizing in-game sports betting in the process
