Convex launches MGA Kinetic Insurance Services

Convex Group has launched Kinetic Insurance Services , a wholly owned, technology-enabled managing general agency that is expected to begin trading in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The UK-based MGA has received regulatory approval from the Financial Conduct Authority and will be led by Theo Butt, former CEO of Convex Insurance UK. Anne Middleton has succeeded Butt as CEO of Convex UK.

Kinetic will focus on specialty and niche lines of business that complement Convex’s existing portfolio. The MGA will be supported by both Convex and third-party capacity and will use technology-driven underwriting to deliver insurance solutions through brokers and clients.

According to Convex, the MGA structure offers flexibility for capital providers, reinsurers, and business partners and is expected to become an important part of the group’s future growth strategy.

Convex was founded by Stephen Catlin and Paul Brand and operates across London, Bermuda, Luxembourg, and New Jersey.
