Clupp gets funding from YC
Yesterday, Y Combinator announced its Winter 2022 batch. The firm received 17,000 applications from founders around the world and funded 414, one of which is Clupp, a Mexican car insurance startup.
Founded in 2017, Clupp claims to offer up to 40% lower premium by focusing on the population which are either low mileage drivers or have good driving habits. It is unclear how good driving habits are measured but in terms of mileage, the startup asks policyholders to take a picture of the odometer to verify mileage from time to time.
Clupp works with Mapfre, HDI, and Munich Re to offer coverage.
