Cityblock Health Raises $65M Series B

Brooklyn-based  Cityblock Health announced it has raised $65m in a Series B round, bringing its total funding to date to $85.8m.

Established in 2017, the company (and a team of ~133) has set up its first location in Crown Heights in partnership with EmblemHealth’s AdvantageCare Physicians. Emblem was the first insurer to agree to have Cityblock manage the health of its members.

Its custom technology platform, Commons, facilitates communication among health team members who provide medical, behavioral and social services to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries in underserved neighborhoods. For instance, Commons (1) keeps mobile care teams looped into what’s going on with every member, (2) brings data, documentation, and communication into a single access point for care teams, and (3) is designed for care providers, ensuring focus on member care, not paperwork.
