Circa raises $2 million

Circa, a startup offering a more flexible rent payment option, has recently secured ~$2 million in funding from Maine Venture Fund, Techstars and Hub Investment Group.

Founded in 2020 by former insurance professionals Leslie Hyman and Heman Duraiswamy, Circa allows tenants to pay their rent in 1, 2 or 4 payments on a schedule that fits their needs. Those who choose a flexible payment plan pay a fee and there’s also the option to pay the rent in full in the beginning of month without an additional charge.

Circa is only available to residents in properties that have adopted this feature and the startup currently targets properties with 1,000-10,000 units. In addition to the rent payment option, Circa also enables properties to offer their tenants disability insurance.
