Cierpa lands Series B from Tokio Marine Group
Japan-based Cierpa & Co has completed the final close of its Series B round with participation from Tokio Marine.
Founded in 2019, Cierpa develops “SmartESG,” a platform focused on sustainability and non-financial data used by corporations, investors, and financial institutions. The platform goes beyond disclosure, offering ESG assessments across supply chains and engagement tools for institutional investors.
The involvement of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance shifts the effort toward pairing insurance expertise with ESG data to develop new opportunities around non-financial information.
The Cierpa platform is used by around 100 companies, with clients representing over ¥300 trillion in market capitalization. The long-term goal is to build infrastructure connecting investors, corporates, and other stakeholders through sustainability data.
