Chubb Tempest Re announces leadership changes

Chubb has appointed James Wixtead executive chairman of Chubb Tempest Re and named Michael O’Donnell president, effective August 1.

Wixtead, currently president of Chubb Tempest Re Group, will provide governance oversight and advise on strategy for Chubb’s global reinsurance business.

O’Donnell, currently president of Chubb Tempest Re USA, will assume day-to-day responsibility for the operation and report to Chubb CEO Evan Greenberg and President and COO John Keogh.

Wixtead has nearly 40 years of insurance experience and led ACE Tempest Re before ACE acquired Chubb in 2016. O’Donnell joined Chubb Tempest Re in 2006 and has led its U.S. operation since 2014.
