CEO Jason Liu is out of Zywave

According to our sources, Jason Liu is no longer working at Zywave due to performance issues related to the company’s financial results.

We last covered the startup two months ago, following its lawsuit against Travelers. Specifically, Zywave, an insurance software company with a three-decade history, is suing Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company. They allege breach of contract for failing to cover $10 million in damages. These damages are claimed to stem from misrepresentations by ClarionDoor, a firm Zywave acquired in late 2021. Zywave contends that had the true state of ClarionDoor’s business been disclosed, it would have either abandoned the acquisition or significantly reduced the purchase price.

This lawsuit emerges amid broader challenges at Zywave. The company, under CEO Jason Liu, has been highly acquisitive, spending nearly $1 billion on ten firms, including ClarionDoor, but faces scrutiny over its ability to integrate these acquisitions effectively.
