Carefull raises $16.5 million

Carefull, a startup offering a service to protect older adults from fraud, scams and “money mistakes,” raised $16.5 million in a Series A round led by Fin Capital and joined by Bessemer Venture Partners, TTV Capital, Commerce Ventures, Montage Ventures, and Alloy Labs, bringing the company’s total funding to $19.7 million.

Founded in 2019, Carefull’s platform scans customers’ financial accounts to detect unusual or suspicious charges. The service, which costs $29.99 per month, offers additional features such as bill organization and management, dark web scanning, password storage, and $1 million identity theft insurance.

The startup has a B2C and B2B2C model and some partners include MassMutual and Nationwide.
