Car Maintenance by Metrowise

Meet Metrowise:

The California-based startup launched in 2017 to offer a subscription-based car maintenance service. It claims that it uses technology to generate a 12 month digital maintenance schedule based on the profile of one’s car, including: year, make, model, trim, mileage and driving habits. That much – in theory. My experience – below:

Also, car owners can now join for a flat fee of $69.99 per month, which at one point was $49.

When joining, Metrowise generates a “Metrowise Digital ID” which car owners use to get their car serviced at a mechanic shop they work with. Maintenance services include fluid replacement, battery care, filter replacement & cleaning services, oil changes, brake services and Lyft or Uber vehicle inspections. Car owners can cancel the service anytime and there’s also a “pay-it-back” feature where Metrowise will give back money for unused services.

The company was founded by John Cook, who currently works for Accenture. Another team member is Muhammad Nabeel, who currently works for HP and previously worked for CarFinance Capital.

Bottom Line: some are skeptic: read here and here.
