Canopius creates Group Analytics function
Canopius has created a Group Analytics function that brings its AI, data science, machine learning, analytics, and pricing capabilities under a single executive.
Nick Betteridge, who has served as group chief actuary since 2018, will lead the function as group chief analytics officer effective October 1. He will remain on the group leadership team and report to CEO Neil Robertson.
The specialty insurer plans to apply AI and analytics across underwriting, pricing, claims, and decision-making, with humans continuing to oversee material decisions.
Rhiannon Seah will succeed Betteridge as group chief actuary, assuming responsibility for reserving, capital, and the broader actuarial function. She will report to CFO Gavin Phillips.
“The winners over the next decade will be those who successfully harness the power of AI and data, and we intend to lead that change rather than follow it. We are scaling strongly and performing with consistency and discipline, and this is the moment to build on that momentum by putting real focus and investment behind data, analytics, and AI as enablers of our next phase of growth.” – Neil Robertson.
