Burns & Wilcox expands WDS program to Texas and New Mexico
Burns & Wilcox has expanded its partnership with Wildfire Defense Systems (WDS) to provide wildfire prevention and mitigation services to insureds in Texas and New Mexico. The program offers WDS’s specialized resources, such as portable sprinklers, fire-blocking gels, and ground-applied retardants, to reduce wildfire risks for homes insured through Burns & Wilcox’s retail insurance clients.
Since the partnership’s launch, over 10,000 homes have been enrolled in the Burns & Wilcox Wildfire Defense Program, delivering positive outcomes in high-risk areas. In addition to Texas and New Mexico, the program covers wildfire-prone states, including California, Colorado, Arizona, and others. Burns & Wilcox continues to lead as the longest-standing wholesale broker partner with WDS in the excess and surplus insurance market.
“In the five years since launching our initial partnership with WDS, Burns & Wilcox has enrolled more than 10,000 homes in our Wildfire Defense Program with very positive outcomes. Unfortunately, wildfires are no longer contained to a particular season, so we are pleased to deliver this ongoing and added layer of protection across Texas and New Mexico.” – Bill Gatewood, Corporate Senior Vice President and Burns & Wilcox National Personal Insurance Practice Leader.
