BMO launches new health and dental insurance plans

BMO Insurance has launched a new health and dental insurance offering for Canadians through its digital brokerage arm, BMO Insurance Solutions Inc. (BMOIS), in partnership with GreenShield .

The new product, BMO Health and Dental Insurance, is underwritten by Green Shield Canada Insurance and combines traditional health and dental benefits with digital health services. Available through the BMO Insurance Solutions Store, customers can compare plans, obtain quotes, and apply online through a streamlined application process.

The plans offer varying levels of coverage for prescription drugs, paramedical services, vision care, and dental treatment, including major dental services and orthodontics on select plans. Every policy also includes access to virtual healthcare visits, virtual mental health counselling, emergency medical travel coverage for trips of up to 30 days, and the BMOIS+: My Health & Dental Benefits app for claims submission and benefits management.

The launch expands BMOIS’s digital insurance marketplace strategy, which focuses on partnering with external providers to offer everyday insurance products through online channels. GreenShield, Canada’s largest non-profit health and benefits organization, operates an integrated payer-provider model that combines insurance administration with healthcare services including telemedicine, mental health support, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management.
