Bishop Street acquires Avid Insurance

Bishop Street Underwriters , a RedBird Capital Partners portfolio company, has acquired Avid Insurance Services , a London-based managing general agent specializing in complex and underserved markets. The deal, which closed October 3, 2025, marks Bishop Street’s second UK acquisition this year. Terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2006, Avid provides niche insurance programs across sectors including construction, social housing, and leasehold, with additional lines in equine, motorsport, gadget, student contents, and travel. Operating as a Lloyd’s coverholder, Avid partners with A-rated carriers and uses data-driven underwriting to tailor coverage and pricing.

The acquisition strengthens Bishop Street’s UK footprint and adds to its growing global platform, following previous acquisitions of Landmark Underwriting, Aerospace Insurance Managers, Ethos Specialty’s Transactional Liability unit, Conifer Insurance Services, Verve Services, and Ahoy!.

Avid’s management team, led by CEO Stephen Gibson, will remain in place.
