Barkibu rasies €4.5 million

Spanish pet insurance startup Barkibu has raised €4.5 million in a funding round led by Kfund, with participation from Mundi Ventures.

We first covered Barkibu in 2021. Back then, the main offering was a chatbot that helped people diagnose their pets with the option to eventually connect with licensed veterinarians. The startup also offered pet insurance in partnership with Munich Re.

Today, it appears that the main offering is pet insurance, which includes the telemedicine service.

Barkibu is live in Spain and Germany.
