Aviva expands regional specialty business

Aviva  is expanding its Regional Specialty business with 15 new hires and additional digital investments aimed at improving broker access to specialist underwriting across the UK.

Its Regional Specialty team now includes more than 50 underwriters across accident and health, construction, engineering, renewable energy, and marine cargo and freight. Aviva also doubled the size of its construction underwriting team to support more complex regional risks.

As part of the expansion, Aviva added nine business development underwriters focused on broker relationships and coordinating access to underwriting, risk engineering, and claims specialists.

The company also highlighted digital upgrades, including marine cargo and freight integrations with Acturis etrade and FastTrade, alongside updated pricing models. Aviva said accident and health referral rates declined by more than 50%, allowing brokers to self serve more business while underwriters focus on complex risks.
