Aviva completes acquisition of DisasterCare Group

Aviva has completed the acquisition of DisasterCare Group, including CJN Holdings Limited, Disaster Care Limited, and The Flood School Limited, making all entities wholly owned subsidiaries.

The deal formalizes a longstanding partnership and brings disaster recovery and restoration capabilities in-house to streamline property claims. DisasterCare connects insurers with local suppliers handling drying, cleaning, strip-out, and reinstatement following events such as fire and flooding—services that limit damage and reduce costs.

The acquisition will simplify supplier appointment, speed up first contact, and shorten response times, helping mitigate losses earlier in the claims process. The model mirrors its motor claims strategy, where repair networks are vertically integrated to improve efficiency and customer outcomes.

The transaction also gives Aviva broader access to training through The Flood School, supporting internal teams and broker partners on flood prevention and recovery.
“Disaster recovery and restoration is a critical moment for customers, often following highly disruptive events. By bringing DisasterCare into the Aviva group, we are strengthening our ability to support customers quickly and effectively, while continuing to work with trusted local experts.

“Importantly, this partnership is about building long‑term strength and stability, combining Aviva’s strong customer focus, insight and scale with DisasterCare’s expertise, care and specialist knowledge. Bringing the two organisations together supports a more seamless end‑to‑end property claims experience and helps us respond quickly when customers need us most.” – Steve Bridger, Chief Claims Officer, Aviva.
