Ascot Group appoints Elizabeth Johnson as group chief operating officer

Ascot Group announced the appointment of Elizabeth Johnson as group chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Johnson will be responsible for leading the company’s global operational support organization while also overseeing the Ascot technology, business intelligence, and communications and marketing functions. She will continue to report to Jonathan Zaffino, group CEO and president.

Johnson joined the organization in 2020 as chief underwriting officer, North America, and in 2022, was promoted to chief operating officer, North America, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of an integrated underwriting, data, and operational organization for the region.

Prior to joining Ascot, Johnson was managing director at Nationwide and spent nearly two decades at AIG, where she held several senior underwriting and management roles.
