Apple may bring car crash detection to the iPhone and Apple Watch

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is working on a new iPhone and Apple Watch feature that detects if you’re in a car crash and dials 911 automatically. The new feature is called “crash detection” and it may launch next year.

This won’t be a first for a phone maker – Google’s Personal Safety app on Pixel phones already includes a feature to call for help when it detects car crashes.

Apple has reportedly been testing this feature over the last year by collecting anonymous data from iPhone and Apple Watch users.
