Animalia no longer returning pet insurance quotes

Animalia , a New York–based pet insurance agency founded in 2021, is no longer returning quotes on its platform. The company operated as a B2C comparison tool, offering consumers the ability to shop pet insurance products through a digital interface, and is now listed as inactive.

Animalia’s program was underwritten by State National Insurance Company. The same carrier previously backed Wagmo’s pet insurance offering, before Wagmo transitioned its underwriting to Independence American Insurance Company, part of JAB, last year.

Both Animalia and Wagmo programs were administered through Boost, which provides infrastructure and compliance support for insurance programs. Despite the shift in partnerships, Markel, State National’s parent company, continues to offer pet insurance coverage primarily through its Prudent Pet brand.

In its active days, Animalia offered coverage in AL, AK, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
