American Express introduces new Trip Cancel Guard benefit

American Express announced the launch of Trip Cancel Guard, a new benefit for American Express U.S. card members that “truly allows travelers to cancel flights for any reason.” Trip Cancel Guard offers members the option to purchase flight cancellation with up to 75% reimbursement of nonrefundable flight costs booked on AmexTravel.com when cancelled at least two calendar days before the departure date.

The fee for the new product is based on the percentage of the total flight cost, inclusive of taxes and fees.
