Amazon names Asurion its preferred provider for protection plans

Amazon has selected Asurion as its preferred provider of protection plans across categories ranging from consumer electronics to major appliance products.

According to the press release, key features of Asurion’s protection plans on Amazon include:

  • Extensive Coverage: Asurion protection plans are available for all consumer and business product categories, including electronics, home appliances, furniture, fitness equipment and much more. Whether you’re purchasing jewelry, a flat-screen TV or a home security system, shoppers now have the option to add protection through a single preferred provider.
  • Cost Savings: With Asurion protection plans, customers can avoid unexpected repair or replacement costs. Most Asurion plans start on the date of purchase and cover repairs, parts replacement and even accidental damage, depending on the chosen coverage. If we can’t repair it, we’ll replace it or send you an Amazon.com gift card equivalent to the purchase price of the item.
  • Flexibility: Amazon customers have diverse needs and preferences. A variety of plan options allows shoppers to choose the duration and type of coverage that best suits their needs.

Amazon shoppers can add an Asurion plan when purchasing an eligible product, or they can directly search for and purchase a plan separately. When it comes time to file a claim, customers can ‘easily’ do so on Amazon within “Your Orders.”
