Ally launches new insurance offering

Financial services company Ally Financial has introduced a new tool to help customers compare auto insurance quotes.

The company has teamed up with Marsh, which powers the new offering.

Users will be able to receive quotes from Progressive, Travelers, Safeco, and Bristol West. We gave it a try and were able to receive quotes from three of the insurers on the list.

Ally says that “in most cases” users will be able to complete the process entirely online. This isn’t the case with Bristol West, which requires users to call to purchase the policy. Travelers allows users to complete the purchase online but users are redirected to its site and are required to provide some information all over again.

It appears that Progressive is the only one with a full integration but we received an error trying to buy the policy.
