Allianz Global Assistance sets course to simplify its business

Allianz Global Assistance , a Canadian travel insurance and assistance provider, is simplifying its Canadian business to “stimulate new growth opportunities and take greater ownership of its customer experience.”

According to the press release, this ‘strategic transformation’ will streamline the company’s operating model, allowing it to focus more on customer service, expand in select markets, and better align with Allianz’s global strategy.

As a part of this strategy, Allianz Global Assistance is exiting its service-only partnerships within the Canadian group benefits space – where it operates as a third party administrator for travel assistance and claims administration – which is a step towards simplifying its service model and focusing its efforts. The company is already working closely with its impacted partners to ensure a smooth transition.

With over 30 years of experience taking care of Canadian travellers, Allianz Global Assistance will be focusing its efforts on driving growth in its other distribution channels in the Canadian travel insurance and assistance marketplace. “These changes represent an opportunity to bring our core strengths to the market and realize new, sustainable growth while taking the best care possible of our customers, partners, and employees. Execution of these initiatives will make Allianz Global Assistance an easier company to do business with. We are excited about the future that this new direction will bring.” – Allianz Global Assistance CEO Chris Van Kooten.
