“Alexa, Tell Me About Grange Insurance”
If you were one of the millions of people worldwide who received an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot over the holidays, Grange Insurance has good news for you. On December 29, 2016, Grange Insurance launched its own Grange Insurance Skill on Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service, making it just one of three insurance carriers to offer an Alexa skill on Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices.
Alexa is the cloud-based, voice-controlled virtual assistant behind Amazon products such as the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot. The Alexa Voice Service provides hands-free access to activities like playing music, hearing the news, checking sports scores and even controlling their smart home devices. It also features thousands of specialized skills, like the one Grange Insurance has launched.
With the Grange Insurance Skill, people can ask Alexa to help them find a local independent Grange Insurance agent, hear the insurance tip of the day and learn general information about Grange Insurance and its home, auto, business and life insurance products.
“The Grange Insurance Skill was created to allow our independent agents and policyholders to interact with Grange in a brand new, convenient way,” Grange Insurance VP, Chief Information Officer, Tim Cunningham said. “It’s easy and intuitive to use, and it will help our independent agents and policyholders when they multitask inside their homes and offices. Now, they can just ask Alexa and hear important information about Grange Insurance.”
Amazon, Inc. launched the Alexa Skills Kit and Alexa Voice Service in June 2015 and now has more than 3,000 skills available.
