Airfox Teams with Mastercard and Zurich
Airfox has partnered with Mastercard Brazil and Zurich; to name two.
Established in 2016, Airfox is a Boston-based fintech startup offering a mobile banking platform in Brazil called banQi. “With banQi, you can open a digital account in just a few minutes and can start banking without any lines or fees.” It has raised $16.2m since inception – mainly via ICO.
Its partnership with Mastercard Brazil, will allow customers access to digital and physical prepaid cards that can be used for online and offline purchases. Unlike traditional debit and credit cards, customers can qualify for banQi without a formal credit history and do not need to open a bank account at a brick-and-mortar establishment. And its partnership with Zurich will bring a diverse portfolio of digital insurance products to banQi customers – such as lending insurance, unemployment insurance, mobile phone insurance, and life insurance.
“This strategic partnership with Airfox provides not only convenience and secure transactions, but also financial and digital inclusion for a portion of the population that doesn’t have access to financial and digital services.” – João Pedro Paro Neto, president of South America and Brazil, Mastercard.
