Afori launches AI platform for brokers

Barcelona-based startup Afori  has raised $4.6 million in pre-seed funding from BOOOM, General Catalyst, and Yellow to expand its AI-powered task management and workflow automation platform for insurance brokers.

Founded in 2025 by wefox alumni Fabian Wesemann and Sergi Banos, Afori is building tools to reduce brokers’ administrative workload and improve operational efficiency. The company’s first product — an intelligent inbox sidebar integrated with Outlook — automatically identifies, classifies, and structures common insurance transactions, such as claims updates or policy addenda, without requiring users to switch systems or learn new interfaces.

The platform uses AI to convert unstructured communications into organized workflows. It detects missing documentation, creates follow-up tasks, manages reminders, and connects data across channels like email, files, and chats. Afori’s goal is to help brokers spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time advising clients.

Wesemann, who co-founded digital insurer wefox, said Afori was designed to act as an “AI layer” across existing broker systems rather than replace them. The company operates on a B2B model targeting property and casualty brokers and positions itself as an enabler rather than a direct competitor.
