Acuity names Melissa Winter CEO as Salzmann retires

Acuity Insurance has completed a planned leadership transition, with Melissa Winter assuming the role of President and CEO, succeeding longtime chief executive Ben Salzmann, who has retired. Winter joined Acuity in 1998 and has served as president since 2023.

Salzmann will remain a member of the company’s board of directors. “Melissa is an exceptional leader. The insurer also announced several executive appointments as it expands leadership across underwriting, finance, marketing, and distribution. Wally Waldhart was named executive vice president and chief underwriting officer; Joel Katsma becomes executive vice president and chief marketing and distribution officer; and Wendy Schuler was appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer. Additional leadership appointments include Brad Lloyd as vice president of distribution, Trisha Krautkramer as vice president of product and marketing, Jeff Boldig as assistant vice president of personal lines, and Carmen Raha as assistant vice president of accounting.
