Erie Insurance temporarily pauses paramedical exams amid COVID-19

For a limited time, Erie Family Life is offering applicants a path to life insurance coverage without the requirement of a paramedical exam. The option to waive the paramedical is aligned with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The waiver will provide Erie Insurance customers the ability to obtain life insurance without in-person interaction. The offer is available for customers up to age 55 and policy face amounts up to $500,000.

“During these unprecedented times, we want our customers to feel confident in their family’s security and future,” said Louis Colaizzo, senior vice president of Erie Family Life. “In addition to doing our part to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, we understand the availability of paramedical exams may be limited in the coming weeks due to the temporary closure of ‘non-essential’ businesses in many areas of ERIE’s footprint.”

Erie Family Life’s waiver is effective immediately and all applications are subject to underwriting approval. Current ERIE customers should reach out to their ERIE agent for more information.

“At Erie Insurance, we know that life insurance is a powerful means of relief, transforming vulnerability into security,” Colaizzo added. “We consider it an honor to protect your family.”
