Is China taking social analytics too far?
China is looking to create a database, currently referred to as the Social Credit System that will rate Chinese peeps based on ‘social metrics’ such as whether they paid their bills or plagiarized schoolwork. Bottom Line: some think it is no different than “American insurance companies giving discounts to customers who upload digital proof from their Fitbits that they exercise regularly.” They must not have heard of the term ‘opt-in’.
