Responsible Innovation; it’s Spain’s turn

The Spanish Association of Fintech and Insurtech (AEFI) is working on a document that it plans to hand to regulators come October. The Gist: a regulatory framework to help the government understand what’s insurtech/fintech, why now, and what they can do to help. Recall, in US, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) issued a regulatory framework supporting responsible innovation in the fintech space back in March, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau launched a program called “Project Catalyst” to support fintech startups. Also recall, in UK, the Financial Conduct Authority launched “Project Innovate” to help companies work with regulators to launch new products.
