AIC Title Service Partners With Blockchain Startup Ubitquity
Oklahoma City-based Ubitquity, a blockchain-secured platform for real estate and title record-keeping, has announced its new client – AIC Title Service. “In addition to being a respected title and escrow service provider, AIC is one of the most innovative companies in its industry. Investing in blockchain technology is a natural fit for the company.” – Founder and CEO of Ubitquity, Nathan Wosnack.
AIC Title Service first plans to create a parallel, blockchain-based system for parts of the title and registration process in the company’s new Aircraft Closing Room. The company has plans to expand its blockchain use and offer more services powered by Ubitquity’s Blockchain API in the near future. “My vision is that within the next five years the records for every aircraft in the world will be housed in my office in Oklahoma . You will have access to the records on every aircraft in the world – on every registry – just as when you get a title search from the FAA.” – AIC owner Clay Healey.
Bottom Line: SafeChain comes to mind. The Columbus-based startup has recently partnered with the auditor’s office in Franklin County, Ohio, to pilot-slash-record the sale of 37 properties being sold through a forfeiture auction. Once a buyer makes a bid via the auditor’s system and the deed is awarded, SafeChain will help transfer the ownership by adding a barcode to the paper record. The buyer will then be able to retrieve the remainder of the relevant documents on blockchain. Recall insurers’ activity on the blockchain here.
