FICO partners with eDriving
FICO, the company best known for its credit score services and eDriving, the company best known for its fleet driver safety programs, will be introducing a smartphone app that offers the FICO Safe Driving Score. The duo plan to launch the app next month and will initially target businesses that look to monitor workers who drive on the job starting at $10 per month. In 2017, the app will be extended to target consumers. FICO is hoping to capture the attention of insurance companies that wish to compete against insurers with UBI (usage based insurance) offerings, whether PHYD or PAYD, such as Allstate or Metromile. For telematics technology players such as Octo Telematics, Zubie and/or ATG Risk Solutions, this move signals intensifying competition. Speaking of Zubie, the brand has been awfully quiet, lately.
