The Gist: the Berlin-based startup, established in 2015 and led by Sofie Quidenus, offers enterprises a document processing solutions via two products: (1) omni:us Claim that automates classification & semantic extraction of data from claims related documents to allow insurers to settle claims faster and (2) omni:us Policy – same concept with a different objective of reducing the time to analyze claims.

Btw, Swiss Re is also leveraging AI in the quoting process to compare insurance contracts, “all the way down to a single clause, allowing underwriters to process a submission much faster.” And QBE recently invested in RiskGenius for the same main reason of streamlining the policy review process. Three’s a crowd. Let’s move on. According to TechCrunch, Omni:us is in the process of raising additional funds – on top of the ~$5M it has already raised – and opening an office in the US.
