Insureon: Two Layoffs in Two Years

Less than two years after Insureon announced it is cutting ~8% of its stuff, this popped up on Glassdoor:

 

 

Back then, CEO Ted Devine attributed the layoffs to technology that allowed the Chicago-based online agency to become more efficient. This time around, the cause of the layoffs is unknown, yet according to one, the workload [in Insureon] is very severe, which rules out an ‘efficiency play.’ Refresher: the agency has raised > $31M since its inception in 1997. It primarily focuses on commercial insurance; operating a D2C model, and a B2B2C model via its retail arm Insureon Solution (formerly known as Insurance Noodle).
