Insureon lands $31 million in funding
Chicago-based online small business insurance agency, Insureon, raised $31 million in funding from Oak HC/FT “to increase its technology development and enhance its sales and marketing activities targeting small businesses”. Cash in Context: Last month San-Fran-based online insurance comparison site, CoverHound, raised over $33 million to expand its digital platform and add new products (think: small business insurance). Last one – NYC-based comparative rater provider, Bolt, raised close to $30 million in total funding. Bottom Line: Insureon: from 20,000 clients in 2012, to 175,000 small business clients today.
