Burgeon targets law firms with contingency fee insurance
Austin-based Burgeon Insurance is targeting law firms with insurance for contingency fees, positioning the offering as a way to manage financial risk while expanding billing arrangements tied to results. The company says its coverage can help firms offer alternatives to traditional hourly billing.
Burgeon received Texas P&C and surplus lines agency licenses on October 21 and November 5, 2026, respectively.
Corporate registration records list a May 2024 incorporation in Delaware and an October 2026 registration in New York under the fictitious name Burgeon Specialty Risk. The company also registered in Oregon in October, using an Austin business address.
