ClearScore to close DriveScore

ClearScore will close its DriveScore app on December 3, 2026, ending its driving tracking and personalized insurance quote services as it focuses resources on its credit score and report business.

Launched in 2021, DriveScore used Cambridge Mobile Telematics technology to measure driving behavior, allowing users to share their scores with insurers for personalized pricing. It also integrated with CDL’s Strata platform to make driving data available at the point of quote, with Policy Expert the first brand to go live through the integration.

The business expanded into ancillary insurance through a partnership with Coplus announced in September 2025. Coplus also manages coverage and claims for DriveScore’s Halo insurance subscription.

Existing car insurance policies purchased through DriveScore will remain subject to their insurers’ terms. Halo policies will lapse automatically, with customers notified of their coverage end dates. Claims for events occurring before coverage ends can still be submitted through Coplus.

After closure, users will no longer be able to obtain quotes or discounts using their DriveScore. Recorded trip and incident data will be deleted after 90 days; users seeking copies must request them before December 3. ClearScore accounts will be unaffected.
