Commercial Express launches delegated authority schemes division

UK MGA Commercial Express has launched a delegated authority schemes division to help brokers develop specialist and niche insurance schemes, with capacity from Fortegra and Ascot.

The division will be led by Nicki Crabb, who joins from Covéa, where she was head of eTrade and Schemes Trading. As delegated authority schemes director, she will work with brokers to develop offerings supported by Commercial Express’ underwriting expertise and insurer relationships.

Commercial Express said it has already identified a pipeline of broker opportunities and extended its authority from existing capacity providers to support new schemes.

Founder and managing director Duncan Pritchard described the launch as a step in the company’s evolution from an MGA toward a full-service MGU, allowing it to support delegated authority opportunities it previously lacked the capability, experience or capacity to accommodate.
