Ascend Introduces Cora, an AI Coworker Designed to Enhance Automation, Starting with Commissions Reconciliation

Ascend, the leading financial operations and accounting automation platform purpose-built for the insurance industry, today announced the launch of Cora, a new AI coworker designed to help insurance teams unlock additional efficiency.
Cora’s first integration is alongside Ascend’s leading Direct Bill Automation solution. While many direct bill automation solutions have come to market, accounting teams often see lower than expected match rates when dealing with unique AMS data structures, non-standard carrier formats, or unique statement specific rules. Historically, improving auto-match accuracy required rigid manual workarounds or reverting back to legacy processes.
Cora solves this friction by bringing natural-language prompting and real-time custom logic directly into the reconciliation process. Acting as an intelligent coworker alongside accounting and direct bill processing professionals, Cora allows users to guide, refine, and optimize statement matching on demand – resulting in x% increase of auto-matches, saving x% more time.

Availability and Rollout
Cora is rolling out directly to existing Ascend Direct Bill Automation customers at no additional cost before the end of the year. Expansion of Cora’s integration across the Ascend platform will continue into 2027.
