Ignyte Insurance acquires InsureMyTrip

Ignyte Insurance has acquired InsureMyTrip , a Warwick, Rhode Island-based travel insurance marketplace founded in 2000. Financial terms were not disclosed.

InsureMyTrip will continue operating under its existing brand and carrier-partner network. The company says it has served more than 6 million travelers, collected over 100,000 customer reviews, and offers comparison and purchase options for trip cancellation, travel medical, evacuation, cruise, student travel and annual plans.

The deal adds InsureMyTrip to Ignyte’s travel portfolio, which includes ISO Student Health Insurance, Envisage Global Insurance, AllClear, InsureandGo and International Student Insurance. Ignyte said its portfolio businesses manage more than $650 million in premium across the U.S., UK, Europe and Australia.
