Rocket Money launches AI financial assistant Rowan

Rocket Money has launched Rowan, an AI financial assistant built with Anthropic that monitors subscribers’ finances and can act on their instructions through text messages.

Available initially to select subscribers through Rocket Money’s new Premium Plus tier, Rowan can identify unused subscriptions and rising bills, negotiate recurring expenses, cancel services and set up automated savings transfers. For example, users can ask it to cancel a free streaming trial before it converts to a paid plan or round up coffee purchases and transfer the difference to a high-yield savings account.

Rocket Money says the system combines adaptable AI agents with rule-based code and human verification. Rowan is designed to learn from unusual workflows, such as nonstandard subscription-cancellation processes, and apply those solutions across the platform.

Rocket Money, formerly Truebill, was acquired by Rocket Companies in 2021.

“What we’ve built with Rowan wasn’t possible even 12 months ago. It finds the money slipping through the cracks, the forgotten subscriptions, the bills that creep up, and it actually does something about them. That’s the difference between knowing and acting.” – Aaron Dignan, VP of Agentic Products at Rocket Money .
