Adam Riese revamps homeowners insurance
Adam Riese , the digital brand of Germany’s Wüstenrot & Württembergische (W&W) Group, has reworked its residential building insurance. The insurer expanded its existing “Besser” and “Riesig” tariffs and added a new top tier, “Riesig Plus.” The lines are sold through brokers, effective immediately.
The revised “Riesig” tariff now covers outbuildings up to 50 m², drainage pipe damage up to €15,000, and unlimited water damage from leaking joints. It also adds a premium-waiver option for policyholders who become unemployed, capped at twelve months. W&W’s Württembergische Versicherung AG is the risk carrier.
“Riesig Plus” layers on coverage for photovoltaic system batteries, storm damage below wind force 8, and a best-performance guarantee. PV systems are covered only if the policyholder has included fire coverage. Existing customers can move to the new tariffs through a broker and cancel their old policy.
W&W is pitching the update at what it calls digitally savvy customers with a strong appetite for prevention, citing extreme weather and building-technology risks as the drivers.
Bottom Line: A tier expansion aimed at homeowners with solar and a broker channel to sell it through.
