Marsh prepares Archer brand

Marsh McLennan  appears to be preparing a new reinsurance and captive-services brand called “Archer by Marsh.”

The company filed a US trademark application for the name on August 13, covering reinsurance brokerage and intermediary services, insurance administration, and the formation, structuring, and management of captive insurers and reinsurance vehicles. The filing also covers actuarial, financial, and regulatory advisory services related to insurance and reinsurance.

Marsh has made corresponding applications outside the US. It filed for the mark in the European Union on August 4 and in the UK on August 5, indicating that Archer may be intended as an international offering. The European and UK applications also cover insurance and reinsurance risk consulting, along with investment advisory and asset-management services for insurance and reinsurance vehicles.

No public announcement or operational website for Archer by Marsh appears to have been released.
