WCF Insurance to acquire Work First Casualty
WCF Insurance has agreed to acquire Work First Casualty Company, a workers’ compensation insurer focused exclusively on the temporary staffing industry. Terms were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close around December 1, 2026.
Founded in 2005, Work First is licensed in all 50 states and holds an A financial strength rating from AM Best. The company provides staffing-specific underwriting, claims oversight and loss-prevention services.

Work First will continue operating under its own brand, with President Jamie Madden and the full leadership team remaining in place. WCF said brokers and policyholders will retain their existing coverage, service teams and contacts as the companies pursue a phased integration.
WCF, founded in 1917, has more than $1.5 billion in policyholder surplus and offers workers’ compensation and other commercial insurance products nationwide.
