MS&AD insurers launch new AI image detection solution

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance, which are part of MS&AD, have developed a solution that can detect images that may have been created or modified using generative AI.

The solution is designed to examine materials submitted to support insurance claims, including photographs of damage, repair estimates, and receipts. It analyzes electronic characteristics and associated information contained in the images through multiple detection technologies to identify signs that an image may have been generated or processed by generative AI, or may have been altered or repurposed.

The new solution was developed with TechUnion Co., a Japanese company specializing in advanced image analysis.
