Verisk acquires McKenzie Intelligence Services

Verisk has acquired McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS), a London-based provider of geospatial intelligence and real-time catastrophe and conflict event analysis.

MIS aggregates data from multiple sources to provide rapid post-event damage assessments and property-level insights. Its technology supports exposure estimates, claims triage, claims resolution, litigation and other financial and operational decisions.

The acquisition also expands Verisk’s capabilities in strikes, riots and civil commotion and political violence by adding real-time, incident-level intelligence.

MIS will become part of Verisk’s Catastrophe and Risk Solutions business, combining its technology with Verisk’s catastrophe models, risk analytics and claims solutions.

The companies previously worked together to integrate real-time event data for accumulation analysis. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, and Verisk said the transaction isn’t expected to have a material impact on its financial results.
