Allianz Life commits $450,000 to Twin Cities financial centers

Allianz Life  is investing $450,000 over three years in Local Initiatives Support Corporation Twin Cities to expand access to employment services, financial coaching and income support.

The investment, made through the insurer’s Allianz For Tomorrow community engagement program, will support a network of eight community-based Financial Opportunity Centers across the Twin Cities. Approximately 1,400 residents use the centers’ services each year.

Over the past five years, participants have collectively increased their net worth by more than $3.6 million, according to Allianz Life. Financial coaches help clients increase income, reduce debt, improve credit and build savings.

Part of the funding will be used to develop an Asset Protection Guide covering insurance, retirement planning and estate considerations. The resource is intended to help coaches show clients how to protect their financial progress against unexpected events.

“As a company, Allianz Life provides the tools for long-term financial security, and supporting the FOC program and its network of eight Twin Cities community-based organizations ensures even more people in our community can strengthen their financial well-being.” – Kenna Poppler, director of community engagement, Allianz Life.
