Aegon names New York as future headquarters
Aegon selected New York City as the location for its future corporate headquarters and appointed Transamerica CEO Will Fuller as president and chief operating officer, effective January 1, 2027.
In his new role, Fuller will oversee the day-to-day management of Transamerica, Aegon’s international businesses, and Aegon Asset Management, reporting to CEO Lard Friese, who will retain responsibility for the group’s strategy and overall performance.
The moves support Aegon’s planned relocation of its head office and legal seat to the United States. Friese is expected to relocate to the US at the beginning of 2027, while the new New York headquarters is slated to open in mid-2027 and will house selected corporate functions and members of the leadership team.
“Will is a highly experienced leader with deep knowledge of our businesses and the opportunities ahead. Will’s appointment further strengthens our leadership team and supports the disciplined execution of our strategy as Aegon relocates to the United States.” – Friese.
Fuller joined Aegon in 2021 as president and CEO of Transamerica after holding senior leadership positions at Lincoln Financial Group and Merrill Lynch.
