Job Description

The Vice President Independent Agent (IA) Operations and Strategy is responsible for developing and delivering enterprise level strategy and centralized support capabilities for the Independent Agent sales organization. This role leads the execution of IA strategic programs across go to market initiatives, sales leadership tools, education and training, compensation strategy, and operational enablement to drive sales effectiveness, customer experience, and business performance. Reporting to the SVP, the VP partners with the IA Sales SVP and cross functional leaders to implement transformation priorities, support models, and change initiatives while leading teams with broad functional expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of strategic programs and transformation initiatives that strengthen centralized support, operational effectiveness, and innovation across the Independent Agent organization.
  • Establish and oversee centrally led IA support functions, including operational coordination, performance management, analytics, governance, and field support models.
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate enterprise and channel priorities into actionable strategies, operating plans, and execution roadmaps that drive growth and efficiency.
  • Own IA go‑to‑market planning and execution in partnership with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Distribution, ensuring field readiness and aligned delivery.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of tools, technology, and performance frameworks that optimize IA leadership effectiveness and distribution outcomes.
  • Design and evolve IA operating structures, processes, and role clarity in partnership with enterprise functional teams to support scalability and performance.
  • Implement methods to evaluate training and enablement effectiveness, leveraging insights and feedback loops to continuously improve impact and ROI.
  • Lead and inspire geographically dispersed teams, ensuring clear prioritization, effective resource allocation, and focus on the highest‑value initiatives.
  • Ensure disciplined operational execution, financial stewardship, vendor partnership oversight, and compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Experience & Education: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in the Independent Agent property and casualty insurance space (Required)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering against financial performance goals
  • Skilled in analyzing market dynamics, defining strategic direction, and translating strategy into actionable plans
  • Deep experience in sales strategy development and execution
  • 4 years Bachelors Degree (Strongly Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and ethical leadership while motivating teams, fostering accountability, and driving a high‑performance culture.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 278,100.00 – 352,350.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
